I live in Elkhart, Indiana with my husband, three sons, and our dog named Ruby. I've loved taking pictures ever since I can remember. Growing up, I was the friend, the family member with the camera at any gathering. In my former life (a.k.a. Before Kids) I was an elementary school teacher. Once I became a mom, I stopped being in the classroom and picked up photography more seriously. (Nothing like having tons of subject matter available 24/7!) There are so many aspects to photography that excite me-- finding delicious light, truly SEEING someone for who they're created to be and capturing it, editing, the artistry, the technical aspects... (sigh). I can't get enough. So when I realized that I can do something I love and call it "work", well, that was pretty great to say the least. It's been a wonderful journey so far, and I'm so thankful to share it with you.
Morning coffee, date nights, Scrabble, lingering over a great meal with a glass of wine, praying with my boys, traveling, dancing, being with friends, sunshine... all these things I love. I'm horrible with directions (I'll use my GPS to get to you every single time, true story) and can't figure out time zones. I have perfect pitch (both a blessing and a curse, let me tell you) and can pinch with my toes.
My photography style is fresh, timeless, and natural. Although I will take posed portraits, the images that I'm passionate about are the candid, unposed shots where people are just being themselves. I use natural light (the best light of all), and the great outdoors is my preferred studio. You can see more of my portfolio on my website. I'm so glad you've stopped by!
